What's your first memories of New Wave?

Duran Duran.

Tell us how you became a WXB DJ.

I was studying at De La Salle-Taft when one of my classmates asked me to accompany and audition
with her for a DJ at the nearby XB station. So I did, I got in and she didn't. Hahaha!

Tell us something we didn't know about the WXB station.

Due to the poor location of the station, (it was located in a three-story house in manila), you could not
get a clear reception if you were in Makati. But if you were in Tagaytay, clear as a baby's saliva.

If you got marooned in an island, what five records or CDs would you have wished you brought with
you?

Only five??? Hmm... That's quite difficult to decide on since my whole life is inspired by music...but it
would be:

1. Tears for Fears - The Hurting
2. Bossacucanova - Uma Diferente Batida
3. Thievery Corporation - Mirror Conspiracy
4. Deep Dish - Toronto
5. Melissa Etheridge - Lucky

Can I mention two more CDs? Garbage - V2 and Afterlife - Speck of Gold.

Were you surprised people still held on to the XB spirit after all these years?

Yes I am very much surprised and I am so happy people were inspired by it.

What do you think made XB so unique compared to other stations?

By comparison, all the others sound dead! Hwahaha! XB played the best New Wave music and I think
the DJs had very alternative ways of broadcasting, making XB a league of its own.

What do you think of those people trying to copy us?

They can copy all they want, BUT they will never be... I think it's a compliment that they are copying
the XB format. But then again, copying does not do them any good, especially that XB is now back
from the ashes!

How did you guys deal with it back then?

Ignorance is bliss! It didn't bother me, I just went on with my daily radio program, doing what I do
best.

What do you do now besides being an XB DJ?

Oh a lot of things! I am now a professional chef, operating my own catering business, specializing in
Brazilian and Italian cuisine. I have a small company that handles the PR of a Brazilian Volleball player .
I help out in any animal rescue that may be needed. I'm thinking of going back to the music business.
And I'm thinking of studying DJ club mixing. And yes I do sleep.

Do you want to say anything to the XB fans out there?

To all XB listeners! Thank you so much for your support! We would not be here if it wasn't for your
dedication and loyalty! Maraming salamat! And to all the New Wave newbies...welcome to the Station
that Dares to be Different...strap on your seatbelt, we're taking you for a joyride!
